送嫁妆& 按床 Delivery of the bride's dowry & Install the bridal bed

After the Betrothal's stage is follow by Delivery of the bride's dowry & Install the bridal bed's stage. Luckily, I had read some information about this online, so I have some idea what is going on at this stage. Ah! You still remember, I bought a lot of chinese traditional wedding stuff with my mother? Hahahaha, all that stuff is my dowry. I search some complete information about the dowry, cause some of the stuff I didn't buy. The dowry incluede: beddings such as pillows, bolsters, comforter set, blankets, bed sheets, etc. Even number of new clothes, "baby bathtub, face washbasin, tumblers" I didn't buy. Potty, mirrors, combs, a pair of bedside lamps, tea set use in tea ceremony, a pair of clogs (in fact, chinese rules need two pairs. I will be mad if my mom wants me to buy 2 pairs!!), Sewing needle, pincushion, scissors, ruler and so on. But during this stage, my mother didn't give me any gold jewellry, she gave me during my tea ceremoney. Em....I think you probably still remember it..right?!!

过大礼完成后，接着的是送嫁妆还有按床了。因为我有在网上看了一些资料，所以对这两个仪式都略知一二的。嗯！你们记得我以前跟妈妈去买了很多传统结婚用品吗？哈哈，这些用品就是我的嫁妆。终于，在这个时候派上用场了。我在网上找了比较完整的嫁妆用品，包括：床上用品，双数新衣服，baby bathtub， face washbasin， tumblers，我没有买。便壶, 镜子， 上头梳子，敬茶用的茶具，一双木屐 (其实需要两双，我会疯掉，假如我妈要我买！)，缝制针线，针垫，剪刀，尺， 牙刷，牙膏还有喜灯。不过，这时后，我妈妈没有给我金饰，她在结婚当天才给我。嗯！这些我想你们大概都还记得吧！！

We conduct "Install the bridal bed" at 26 Dec 2008, 8am. Normally, a bride should accompany by a sister to future husband's house to arrange all my stuff in the new wedding room. But, just because I don't have any sister, so my brother's girlfriend wants to help me up. hehehe!! so good!! So the whole process are very fast and easy. Then, A good fortune husband and wife will come and complete this process. (But we just ask Mr.Quah's parents of helps up this... hehe!! She has 3 sons and 1 daughter...so consider good fortune la!! haha). His parents helps to put red packet with coin under our bed and put a plate of dried longans, lotus seeds, red dates, together with 2 red packets are placed on the bed. A pair of bedside lamps is lit to symbolize adding sons to the family.

因为我是家里的独女，没有姊妹。所以按床摆厨时，是我弟弟的女友陪我一起去。本来想和Mr.Quah 我们自己搞定。但是弟弟的女友极力愿意陪我去，所以整个过程都进行的蛮快和轻松的。我们是在26 Dec 2008, 8am 进行这个仪式。摆完橱后，就是按床。其实按床，是很容易的。只是需要一对有福气，有子有孙的长辈帮我们摆正我们的床，然后，在四个床褥下面压缘钱。最后，摆上一盘有龙眼，莲子，红枣，橙，红包在床上就可以了。然后，开亮喜灯(代表添子添孙)。就这样整个按床仪式就大功告成了。
